Day by Day itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive at the Lisbon Airport and head to the hotel to freshen up. Today is at leisure until we meet for a welcome dinner at Kong, Food Made with Compassion. This is a 100% plant-based cruise redefining the boundaries of traditional vegan dining. Then back to the hotel for a restful sleep.
Day 2 - After breakfast, we head out for a full panoramic tour to Sintra, a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1995. Sintra has charming palaces and narrow street where many a favorite poet, including Lloyd Byron resided over the years. We will visit Pena Palace, Medevil Palaces and lush gardens abound in this area. We take a break for lunch (not included) then continue to Quinta da Regaleira, a capivating estate famous for its gardens, mystical symbolism and stunning architecture, reflecting Gothic, Renaissance and Manueline styles. Visit underground tunnels, a chapel and the Iconic Initiation Well. There are many hidden grottoes, secret pathways and must-see landmarks rich in history and intrigue.
Day 3 - Depart after breakfast for a walking tour and hands on cooking class at the Cooking Academy of lisbon. Step into the kitchen for a fun and interactive 3.5 hour cooking class led by expert chefs. You will create a fully-planted based 3 course meal with a starter, main course and dessert. Appetizers and beverages will flow while you are making your wonderful creation, then sit down with your friends and savor the delicious meal you've created! After your meal, join your guide for a walking tour through Lisbob's vibrant streets. Stroll down Avenida da Liberdade, the Art Deco area near Edan Theater and take in the grandeur or Rossio Central Station. Soak in the Historic charm of Restaurandores Square and Praca do Comercio, where you will hear stories of Portugal's independance. We wander through the trendy Chiado district, home to quaint cafes, theaters and boutique shops. We will end at the bustling Mercado da Ribeira. You will have free time to explore before heading back to the hotel. Evening at leisure.
Day 4 - Today we have a lovely market tour and Tile Paiting Workshop - we start our day with a private transfer to Mercado da Ribeira, where your culinary adventure begins. We meet Luisa to explore the market with its' vibrant stalls, and local ingrediants that we will use for our Plant based portugeese feast. Walk to her cozy kitchen where you can participat in creating a delicous meal or sit back and relax while it is being prepared. Then unleash your creativity with a hands on Tile Painting Workshop, where you will create a 12X12 or 15X15 tile that you can take home. You wrap up your day with a transfer back to the hotel. Evening at leisure.
Day 5 - After breakfast we will leave Lisbon and travel North to Porto, the second largest city in Portugal. This is another Unesco World Heritage Site. Before we arrive at the hotel we will stop at Poca Winery (or sinilar) for a wine tasting. This is a family owned Port wine house that has centuries of expertise in crafting high quality wines. We will have a guided tour of the winery and vineyard and taste four distinct wines, White Port, Special Reserve Ruby, 10-year old Tawny and Soberbo Vermouth. That evening we have an incredible dinner at Em Carne Viva (or similar). DOn't let the name fool you it is completely plant based! The dinner tonight is a 10 course tasting menue.
Day 6 - Start your day after breakfast with a panoramic tour - a guided walk to the Douro River where you will board a traditional boat for an hour ride along the Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, passing iconic landmarks like the Palacio da Bolsa, Porto Wine Museum and Serra do Pilar Monastery to name a few. After lunch (not included) we will explore the historic center on foot. We will visit the world famous Livraria Lello - this historic bookstore is concidered the most beautiful in the world!
Day 7 - Today we explore the Douro Valley, known for its terraced vineyards, steep hills and picturesque landscapes. We will stop for wine tastings along the way and enjoy the views from the hillside wineries. We will have a guided tour of the gardens and vineyard followed by wine tasting. This evening you will have some free time before our farewell dinner.
Day 8 - After breakfast, head back to the airport for your flight home. (not included)
